Synopsis

Blue Skies is a movie that looks back on the rollercoaster ride that was the love triangle of popular radio personality and former dancer Jed Potter, played by Fred Astaire, Johnny Adams, played by Bing Crosby and Mary O’Hara played by Joan Caulfield. The three used to be the best of friends but turned rivals as they both fought for Mary’s affection. When Jed lost out to Johnny and married Mary the friendship was broken.

However life wasn’t at all pleasant for the married couple, and soon after the birth of their daughter, they decided to divorce. Mary then went back to Jed to give him another chance but she then turned her back on him to patch things up with Johnny.

Jed’s only friend then was alcohol, however it’s not until an accident that prevents him from dancing ever again that the whirlwind friendship takes another turn and the three friends are brought back together.
