Synopsis

The fourth adaptation and first made for television of the classic Australian bushranger novel "Robbery Under Arms" about the bushranger Captain Starlight.

In this 1985 version of the book authored by Rolf Boldrewood, Sam Neill stars as Captain Starlight who leads his gang of outlaws across the Australian countryside in the late 19th Century and along the way terrorizing anyone and anything in their path. Dick and Jim Marsten (Steven Vidler and Christopher Cummins) follow in their father’s footsteps by leaving home to join Captain Starlight’s gang.

Starlight and his followers have a vast opposition in Sir Frederick Morringer (Robert Grubb) who wants to rid of them. The film is full of arguments, love interests and in the end a final battle with the law.
