Synopsis

Most teenagers go through changes but for Scott Howard, growing up means a lot more than usual, and life can be awkward when you're a teenage werewolf.

Like most teenaged boys, Scott Howard (Michael J. Fox) spends his time thinking about scoring -- with girls, in class, and on the basketball court. An average guy in an average town, Scott yearns to be different. His greatest wish is to be special. Well, Scott’s wish is about to come true, in a very big way, and the results lead to some very funny situations.

It all begins very simply. A few itches around the ears, an unintentional snarl or two, eyes that sometimes glow red in the dark. Scott is desperate to hide these changes from his friends and his Dad (James Hampton). Then one night, his team, the Beacontown Beavers, is losing yet another basketball game. Scott gets the ball and, suddenly, the other team piles on top of him. A frightening growl emits from underneath the pile of humans...and the Teen Wolf emerges.

The court is his -- and the Beavers win their first game in a decade. So now Scott Howard certainly is different. He’s become a teenage werewolf. But he’s not a werewolf in the classic mold. Teen Wolf is no fierce mangler of the young and unprotected...he is the epitome of cool. And he’s got a hook shot that can’t be beat. Everyone, especially the beautiful and previously unapproachable Pamela (Lorie Griffin), is delighted by the transformation. Only Boof (Susan Ursitti), Scott’s childhood friend is unimpressed.

Teen Wolf becomes a total celebrity, and he loves all the attention. Media coverage. Souvenir t-shirts. Fan filled stands at all the basketball games. Scott ultimately has to choose between being himself or the Wolf. On the one hand, there is certain glory, fame, and Pamela. On the other, the risk of losing all the attention and adoration...but then the knowledge that the friends he would have left really like him for himself.
