Caan

Born 26 Mar 1940

Biography

An American actor with a vast array of screen history behind him, James Caan has had a distinguished career and was nominated for both an Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Sonny Corleone in The Godfather (1972).

He began his career in television, appearing in shows such as The Untouchables (1962) and Combat! (1963). He later entered the world of film and found success in films such as El Dorado (1966), Brian's Song (1971), Funny Lady (1975), Rollerball (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Thief (1981), and Misery (1990).

More recently he starred as "Big Ed" Deline in the television series Las Vegas (2003).

He has four sons and a daughter to four wives, his son Scott Caan is also an actor.
