Biography
A Welsh actor and director, Ray Milland was one of Paramount studio's most bankable and durable stars and under contract with them between 1934 to 1948. Some of his most notable roles occured in the films The Lost Weekend (1945), Dial M for Murder (1954), and Love Story (1970).
His most critically acclaimed role, The Lost Weekend, saw him awarded with an Academy Award for best actor as well as several other accolades. He was also in the CBS detective series Markham (1959) which while considered an excellent performance, was unable to capture audiences attentions.
