Biography

An Academy Award winning American film actor, Dean Jagger had 131 screen appearances in a career spanning almost 60 years. He won an Academy Award for Best Supporting actor for his role as Maj. Harvey Stovall in Twelve O'Clock High (1949), alongside Gregory Peck.

Some of his better remembered film appearances include Irving Berlin's White Christmas (1954), Bad Day at Black Rock (1955), Elmer Gantry (1960), and Vanishing Point (1971).
