Biography

An English actor, writer and dramatist as well as a Knight commander of the British Empire, Peter Ustinov was the winner of numerous awards over his life, including two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor, Emmy Awards, Golden Globes and BAFTA Awards for acting, a Grammy Award for best recording for children, as well the recipient of governmental honours from, amongst others, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

Some of his better remembered film appearances include Spartacus (1960), Billy Budd (1962), Topkapi (1964), Blackbeard's Ghost (1968), Robin Hood (1973), Logan's Run (1976), and Lorenzo's Oil (1992).
